論文用に、いまはもう古典となったBell (1984a,b), Reznick(1985), Reznick et al. (1986)とか、1998年のOIKOSの特集号を読んでいる。Reznickの意見は昔から一貫しているようだが、どうも釈然としない部分が残る。「操作実験は進化の予測に意味がない」となぜ言い切れるのか、わかったようなわからないような感じがしている。Roff (2002)もReznick (1985)を礼賛しているように思えるが、核心に触れられていないと思う。私自身の言葉で言えないモヤモヤ感が残る。たぶんそのモヤモヤ感は、彼の言う「操作実験」の定義によるのだろう、というのを感じたところで今日のお勉強は終わり。
